Psilocybin Retreats in Oregon: Legal, Small, and Whole
Three or five nights in the Portland area with a small group, licensed facilitators, and a full-dose session at a licensed service center. Lodging, meals, preparation, and integration included.
A psilocybin retreat in Oregon, sometimes called a psychedelic retreat or mushroom retreat, is legal because the session itself happens at a state-licensed service center with a licensed facilitator, and the lodging, meals, preparation, and integration are built around it. Ayeterra’s retreats are four to six people, three nights from $3,000 or five nights from $4,500 per person, all-inclusive. The psilocybin is included, it is the actual mushroom, and every legal protection of a standard session applies.

Why is a psilocybin retreat legal in Oregon?
Because Oregon licenses the whole chain: the grower, the lab, the service center, and the facilitator. Oregon was the first state to do it and Colorado has since followed; everywhere else in the US a “retreat” runs outside the law, and most overseas retreats run outside any oversight at all.
- The session happens at a licensed service center, never at the lodging (ORS 475A.498). The retreat wraps around it; it does not replace it.
- Screening, preparation, a facilitator present throughout, and a 72-hour follow-up are all required by Oregon rule, retreat or not.
- The psilocybin is Psilocybe cubensis grown by a licensed Oregon producer and lab-tested. You buy it at the center on session day.
- Nothing leaves the building. No psilocybin at the lodging, before or after.
What to ask any retreat, anywhere: where exactly does the session happen, who is licensed for it, and what happens if it gets hard at 2 a.m.? Ayeterra’s answers are a licensed service center, licensed facilitators, and a facilitator present through the session with integration built into the days after.
The two retreats
Three-night retreat, one journey
- One full-dose guided session, up to 35 mg, psilocybin included
- Three nights of lodging and meals
- Preparation together the day before; integration before anyone goes home
- Four to six people, licensed facilitators throughout
Five-night retreat, two journeys
- Two guided sessions: a lower dose early in the week, then a full dose up to 35 mg once you know the territory
- Five nights of lodging and catered meals
- Two integration days, one after each session
- Four to six people, licensed facilitators throughout
Price should never be the reason someone does not have a session. Sliding-scale access is real and handled on the consultation, with no forms and no proof of hardship.
What does a retreat look like, day by day?
The three-night version. The five-night version adds a lower-dose session on day two and an integration day after it.

- Preparation together: intentions, what the session day holds, the practices you will lean on
- An early night
- Transport to the licensed service center in the morning
- The session: four to six hours, facilitators present throughout
- Back to the lodging in the evening; quiet, food, rest
- A slow morning outdoors
- Integration in the group and one-on-one: what came up, what to carry, what to do in the first week home
- The evening is yours
- Breakfast, a closing circle, departure by midday
- Your facilitator’s 72-hour check-in follows, and integration support continues after you are home

- Cost is the deciding factor: a group session is from $750, a one-on-one from $2,000 plus medicine
Retreat questions
Where do Ayeterra’s retreats happen?
In the Portland area, with the session itself at a licensed service center in Portland. The lodging is nearby; you are transported to and from the center on session day.
How do I book, and when are the dates?
Retreats run on set dates for small groups, so start with the free consultation and ask. You will hear the upcoming dates, go through the same screening as any format, and get the all-in price in writing before anything is booked.
Is a retreat right for a first psilocybin experience?
It can be, especially the five-night version, where a lower-dose session comes first. Preparation on day one is thorough, and having a group and two facilitators around you helps. If you are unsure, the consultation will say so.
What is the dose?
Up to 35 mg on the full-dose session, planned with your facilitator during preparation. The five-night retreat’s first session is a lower dose to learn the territory.
Are there psychedelic retreats near me elsewhere in Oregon?
Licensed service centers exist across Oregon, and some run their own retreat-style programs. Wherever you look, the session must be at a licensed center with a licensed facilitator, and lodging cannot involve psilocybin. Ayeterra’s retreats are Portland-area.
Do I need to live in Oregon?
No. Most retreat clients travel in. You need to be in Oregon for the retreat itself, and Ayeterra does not provide psilocybin services anywhere else.
