Low-Dose Psilocybin Sessions in Oregon: More Than a Microdose, Less Than a Journey

A low-dose psilocybin session with Ayeterra is a complete, legal session with a licensed facilitator at a licensed service center, at a dose most people feel clearly without being taken all the way in: 4.99 mg in a small men’s or women’s group from $75, or 4.9 to 9.9 mg privately for $250, psilocybin included. It is an introduction, not a sample, and not a discount version of a full session.

From Ayeterra’s Oregon-licensed facilitators. Last updated September 16, 2026.

What does a low dose of psilocybin feel like?

Present, softened, and still yourself. Colors a little brighter, thoughts a little looser, feelings closer to the surface. It is enough to learn what the medicine is like and how you respond to it, and not enough to lose the thread.

  • Under 5 mg (the group dose): most people feel it clearly; a one-hour minimum session by Oregon rule, usually about two hours in practice
  • 5 to 9.9 mg (the private range): noticeably more; a two-hour minimum session, with room to go a little deeper if you and your facilitator choose
  • Not a full journey. Full sessions run 20 to 50 mg over four to six hours; this is a different thing on purpose

Is a low-dose session the same as microdosing?

No, and the difference matters legally and practically. Microdosing means sub-perceptual amounts taken at home over weeks; a low-dose session is a perceptible dose, taken once, at a licensed service center with a facilitator.

Ayeterra does not offer or advise on microdosing, and Oregon’s program does not allow take-home psilocybin. What it allows is exactly this: a real dose, a licensed setting, a facilitator, once.

Price should never be the reason someone does not have a session. Sliding-scale access is real and handled on the consultation, with no forms and no proof of hardship. The $75 group exists so there is a real doorway into this work for anyone.

Who is a low-dose session for?

  • People who have never taken psilocybin and want to meet it gently before deciding on a full session
  • People who are nervous about losing control, and want to learn that they can stay present with it
  • People who want to meet a facilitator and a service center before committing $750 or $2,000
  • People for whom cost is the barrier. The group is $75 and it is a real session
  • People who are simply curious, which is a good enough reason

The same screening, preparation, facilitator presence, tested product, and follow-up as every other format. Oregon does not have a lighter set of rules for lighter doses.

Both low-dose formats share the same legal protections as a full session.

Low-dose questions

Is $75 really a whole session?

Yes. Screening, a preparation session, the session itself at a licensed service center with a licensed facilitator, the psilocybin, and a follow-up. It is short and it is gentle; it is not partial.

Will I feel anything at 4.99 mg?

Most people do, clearly. A few feel very little, which is itself useful information about how you respond. Nobody is taken all the way in at this dose.

Can I drive afterward?

No. The transportation rule applies at every dose. Arrange a ride.

What happens after a low-dose session?

Your facilitator follows up within 72 hours. Many people go on to a full group or one-on-one session; some decide this is enough; some decide it is not for them. All three are good outcomes of a $75 session.

Why are the groups men’s and women’s?

Because a lot of people find it easier to be open in a room of people who share that, and the format is short enough that the groups can run separately. Say what you need on the consultation.

Can I microdose psilocybin legally in Oregon?

Only inside a licensed session, which by definition is not microdosing at home. Possession of psilocybin outside Oregon’s program is a crime, and take-home doses are not allowed. If what draws you to microdosing is a gentle, low-commitment first experience, a low-dose session is the legal version of that, with a facilitator in the room.

Is there a low-dose session near me in Ashland or Eugene?

Low-dose formats are Portland-only for now. Ashland offers one-on-one full sessions. This page will say so when that changes.
